Southern Food Vendors
Mama J’s – Mama J’s is Richmond’s premiere soul food dining experience. This family-owned and operated restaurant located in Historic Jackson Ward celebrates the family tradition of going to grandma’s house for Sunday dinner. With a vast array of mouth-watering favorites, Mama J’s combines great southern food with outstanding service in a relaxing atmosphere.
Jake’s Place – We love great food— and we’re pretty sure you do too. Our pride shows in the slow cooked smoked barbecue and brisket, the care and love in the Yohman’s Fresh Garden Salsa and John’s Secret Marinara Sauce. Try our Priddy Burger. It’s made proudly in honor of Sumpter Priddy who was a crucial part of making Jake’s Place a reality. Great food, amazing people and a loving community – that’s Southern Comfortable — and that’s Jake’s Place!
Cluck N’ Roll – Food truck specializing in Fried Chicken. Their menu features mouth watering items like the “Bang-Bang Chicken Sandwich” and Funnel Cake Fries.
Farmview Creamery – farmer owned mobile unit selling fresh, farm-made ice cream as well as flavored milk.
Live Music Schedule
1pm: James River Junction – Originating in the heart of Virginia, JRJ serves up Southern Rock-Americana with plenty of blues influence. Lead singer and songwriter Daniel Glymph’s vocals are supercharged by Michael Nadder’s guitar leads. The two melody makers are held together by Brady Donovan (Drums) and Henry Liscio’s (Bass) funk inspired and largely improvisational rhythm section, delivering listener’s an unmistakably raw and authentic sound.
4:15pm: Out of Uniform – Out of Richmond, VA, Out of Uniform is a non-genre cover band with a down home bluegrass sound that intertwines with a country twang that will keep your toes tapping all day long.
Special Beer Release
To commemorate the occasion, we will be rolling out “Spill the Tea,” a sweet tea infused lager that pair perfectly with southern eats and beats!
The COTU arcade will also be open for this event, so bring your quarters!
