Production Team
We currently have 3 brewers and 4 cellar workers in the back of the house. We do not have a “head brewer” or “brew master.” Instead, Phil Ray serves as the head of production and works with Joseph Cross (production manager) and Brett Dillon (brewing manager) on scheduling, projections, new recipe formulation, and everything else related to getting the beer from grain to glass.

Production/Sales
Beer Produced
2017: 6,000bbls
2018 (Projected): 8,000bbl

Our Brewing Equipment
Barrel (BBL) = 31 U.S. Gallons
Fermenter – Where the beer ferments
Brite Tank – Where the beer is packaged off of after fermentation/filtration

Our brewery is driven through a 2-vessel 15 barrel (bbl) brewhouse. We have a total on 9 30bbl ferments, 2 60bbl fermenters, 3 30bbl brite tanks, and 1 60bbl brite tank. All of our heating is done with steam, to ensure an even and repeatable brew. All of our beer is canned on a Palmer 12 fill head rotary canning line. The canning line does between 50-55 cans per minute. It is the only 1 of 2 (Stone being the other) craft rotary canning line in the state of Virginia, which makes our canned products the most shelf stable and consistent in the state. We are also only 1 of 2 local Richmond breweries to have their own canning line. A 2-row mill in house mills all of our malted barley fresh, ensuring the grain is fresh just before brewing.
